Episode 23: Using Twitter

330,000,000 is a number that you should be very familiar with. Do you know why? That's the number of active monthly users on the social media platform known as Twitter. Believe are not, it is still around, and actually starting to grow again. Even though you might think it was in decline, it actually never went away. If you need a reminder, just remember who the president is this year!

In today's podcast episode, we are going to cover some potential uses for this platform and how to be successful if you plan to actually use it. Even if you just use it to look around, it's an incredibly powerful platform that has the potential to make your thoughts known, your business recognized, and even keep you entertained for hours. In other words, it has a little something for everybody.

I'm sure by now that you know what a hash tag is in the birthplace of the hash tag is none other than Twitter. This indexing tool is a great way to find exactly what you're looking for and no other social media platform does it better than Twitter. But let's be honest, Twitter is much more than just looking around for hash tags. Much more, in fact!

Pretty much every famous person on the planet has their own Twitter account. When I talk about famous people, I'm talking about politicians, musicians, athletes and everything in between. If you want to know what's going on in their life, you can simply follow them on Twitter and they will probably give you an inside look which is very attractive to a lot of people out there.

Not only is Twitter good for following your favorite celebrity, it's also a great place to catch breaking news as it happens. As you will hear in the podcast, Twitter is incredibly fast and that is what is known for. You get quick hits of information very rapidly, usually as something is happening! So, if you hear about something going on in the world, Twitter is most likely the first place for most people go to find out about it.

If you are not looking to follow a celebrity or catch breaking news, you may want to use Twitter to learn from your favorite influencers. Don't have an influencer? You could probably find one, searching for different subjects on the platform and then following those whom give meaningful insight about the particular topic. For me personally, I like having the first look at articles from people in my areas of interest.

Not only can you absorb information from the platform, you can also transmit. One way to grow a big following is to simply be first and be meaningful. In the episode, you will hear me talk about how you can be one of the first people to share or even comment on a particular subject. By doing so, you left the world know your thoughts and potentially could help make a difference. Or, you could just be the first to complain!

Regardless of how you plan on using the platform, it is still incredibly relevant and important in today's society. Of course there are plenty of right ways and wrong ways to do things on the platform, so I would strongly suggest the you continue to do your research and use the platform appropriately. Avoid spam, be ready to block the nasty trolls, and get out there and have a lot of fun. I look forward to connecting with you!

This podcast is dedicated to becoming the best at what you do. It's about being the best at work, at home, at a party or on the field. We're going tackle the things that few people talk about. Topics like self-education, etiquette and relationship building will be explored in a way that you can put into action!
